Welcome to Athens Veterinary Clinic we are here to provide your furry, four-legged, or feathered family members with the highest standard of veterinary care. At Athens Veterinary Clinic we are committed to providing quality care at every stage of your pet's life. From routine preventive care for your pets to early detection and treatment of a wide range of conditions and diseases and surgical care, we have the expertise to provide the care your pet needs at every stage of life.
Our Mission and Values
At Athens Veterinary Clinic we strive to treat every patient with as much care as we would give to our own pets. We want to practice high quality medicine and keep up with the latest advances in the veterinary field. When your pet enters our care, we hope you feel at ease knowing every staff member will provide for your pet to the very best of their ability. We also know that in these challenging times affordability and value are important and we hope to meet or exceed your expectations.
We want to provide our staff members with a great work environment. We hope respect and care of staff and clients is always mutual. As a small family-owned business we want to care for the planet. Because of this we have invested in electronic record systems and strive to be "paper-light". We utilize recycling services in an effort to curb our footprint.
We thank you, the customer, for providing us the opportunity to care for your furry family member. If you think we have fallen short never hesitate to let us know at administrator@theathensvetclinic.com. We would encourage the feedback.
A Dedicated Group of Veterinarians
Athens Veterinary Clinic has continued to provide care to both large and small animals for quite some time. Dr. James Bratton and his brother-in-law, Dr. Marvin Phillips, started the “Athens Veterinary Hospital” back in 1952. Dr. Erik Aanestad purchased the practice in 1993 and it has continued to operate as the Athens Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Aanestad passed away in 2015, but his son, Dr. Marshall Aanestad, has since graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has revived our multi-generation practice.
